New Campus Center Opens
City of Lenexa and Park University collaborate to bring higher education to the community
This summer Park University’s 41st campus center opened in Lenexa, Kan. This campus center was built in partnership with the City of Lenexa.
The project, initiated by the City of Lenexa, has been a goal for 20 years. Lenexa officials wanted to provide a place of higher education for their residents. They looked into multiple universities prior to choosing to partner with Park.
The University is renting space from the city, inside the Lenexa City Center at 17101 W 87th St. Parkway. The area is filled with new construction, including a public market and library, and there are plans for more development in the area, including an aquatic center, to come.
“The campus center is geared toward working adults,” according to Mya Lawrence, the Lenexa campus director. Classes take place Monday through Thursday from 6-9 p.m.
