Mavericks Hockey
The Kansas City Mavericks are the East Coast Hockey League affiliate to the NHL Calgary Flames. This is their first season as the Kansas City Mavericks since their debut in 2009.
Since their official move however, the Mavericks have made history and have been awarded not just for their wins in the season but for the charitable work they do as well.
They have won many community awards for their help in the Kansas City area. This includes the most recent award from The Boys and Girls Club of the Greater Kansas City, the team raised nearly half a million dollars during their Dinner on Ice event.
Their current season is taking place now and their last game is on April 6 against Rapid City Rush at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center. The record so far for the Mavericks is 22 wins and 18 losses.
The Mavericks home rink is not too far from Park University at the Silverstein Eye Centers Arena in Independence, Mo.
