The Women’s team closed out a four-game home stand against Baker and Freed-Hardeman earlier this week.
The women played Baker University in their third home game of the season. The team managed to hold off Baker for the majority of the first half. Freshmen Sydney Patterson scored at the 33-minute mark after an initial shot was blocked. Junior Bridget Steiner assisted Patterson’s goal.
Four minutes later, Baker came back and tied the game, moments before the end of the first half. Junior Bridget Steiner scored during the 78th minute to give Park a 2-1 lead. However, just when it was all over and down to the last minute Baker came back to tie the game to take it into overtime. Both teams kept up the attack to send the meeting into double overtime. Unfortunately Baker scored in the 105th minute.
After three games, Park managed to snap its game losing streak with a win against Freed-Hardeman. The first half proved scoreless for both teams. Bridget Steiner scored in the 48th minute of the outing. Steiner scored again and gave Park a 2-0 lead. Park held off Freed-Hardeman long enough to snag its first win of the season.
Later in the week the women went on the road to face Graceland University but came up short, losing 1-5. With another loss the women have dropped to 11th place in the conference.
