Athlete of the Week is designed to feature a new student-athlete students may not be familiar with. It is designed to introduce new players to the athletic program and University.
Freshman Emily Key, who hails from Wordsley, England, is already making waves on the soccer field this year.
Just 41 seconds into the team’s second game of the season, she narrowly missed a goal – where the ball bounced off the crossbar and then off the playing field.
Although she did not get into the starting lineup against Benedictine in that game, Key was subbed in and made her first college appearance in the United States.
Key previously played in the Women’s Premier League-Northern Division before coming to the U.S. Key also brings playing experience from the Sporting Club Albion Ladies FC and Thomas Telford School.
Key and the Park Women’s Soccer team are in action again Tuesday, Sept. 17, at Graceland in Lamoni, Iowa.
