New millennial shopping experience in downtown Parkville
Wild Layne Boutique hit Main Street Parkville last November, offering a variety of girl’s and women’s clothing along with jewelry, shoes, hats and more. The goal of this unique store is to have “cute, trendy boutique-quality clothes at very affordable prices,” said general manager Darcy Moon.
The store has items for any occasion. They sell a variety of skirts and blouses and also more casual wear such as sweaters and beanies. While you’re shopping you can find the perfect pair of Nichole Lewis earrings to tie your outfit together and grab a new candle on your way out.
Owner Kelly Dahl began her business by selling clothes out of her basement in St. Joseph, Missouri. From there, she started to sell a few clothing items in salons and then was able to open her first storefront in St. Joe.
Dahl stumbled upon Parkville by accident. She had an appointment in Kansas City when she discovered beautiful Main Street.
“She fell in love with the area and particularly the store space,” said Moon. “So she was just eyeballing it until it became available and snagged it right up as soon as it was open.”
Dahl is all about empowering women and the name of her store comes from two important females in her life. “Wild” came from her late mother who had a wild personality and spirit. Dahl used her daughter’s middle name “Layne” and the two together is what created the Wild Layne Boutique.
Next time you’re taking a stroll on Main Street, check out this trendy new boutique. If you find something you like, a Facebook check-in will get you five percent off your purchase.
