With the holiday season upon us, it is the time of year where people start to go a bit crazy. I don’t know if it’s the cold weather, holiday shopping or the simple fact we have to spend a lot more time around people being happy – but something makes the crazy just come out swinging.
In Kansas City, people have been mugging and robbing people, committing murder and doing things which make me think being institutionalized would be a better place to be until after Valentine’s Day.
My theory on this whole mess, the time between Nov. 1 and Feb. 15 is as follows: People of this culture and society are generally greedy, selfish and slightly unhinged. They are obsessed with material possessions and it drives them to do unthinkable acts.
So in the spirit of what the holiday season is actually about – love, thankfulness and family – take a step back and think about the repercussions of what you are about to do when you are feeling the need to do something crazy for a superficial reason.
Possessions are just things. You can’t take them with you when you die and you certainly can’t take them with you to jail.
Be merry, spread love and just be a kind, thoughtful person this holiday season. Ten bucks says it will make it more enjoyable for you and the peoplw you spend the holidays with.
