Finals week is quickly approaching and the stress is probably starting to set in. Even though finals week has a bad reputation – it doesn’t have to be like that all the time.
When studying for finals it is important to take a break every now and then and let your brain rest. However, one thing students could do is attend the annual Cram Jam that is held in Thompson Commons Student Center. The event will be held at 10 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9.
“Contrary to what the name suggests, Cram Jam actually provides students with a break from studying for finals,” said Christian Hoffman, senior in business management. “There are always games, prizes and lots of free food. There are always a lot of people there. I’ve always had a blast.”
Karie Shaefer, staff advisor, also encouraged students to participate.
“In addition to the normal late night breakfast there will be a funnel cake bar and kettle corn,” she said. “Residence Hall Council plans to have prizes ranging from Park apparel to gas gift cards. The event is free to all students”
Studying can be a lot and very overwhelming at times so taking a break is always a great idea. Taking a break can allow students to calm nerves and refocus on studies. “
Ashley Taylor, former Park University student, said going to Cram Jam was a great opportunity to relax with a lot of “cool people.”
“It allowed me to step back from studying, distress some then go back and hit the books,” she said.
