Dear Editor,
I did not have the opportunity to say goodbye in March so I would like to take this opportunity to thank the students, the faculty, and the staff at Park University.
Students of Park University: You were the reason I loved my job. For six years I met some of the best students in the world. More importantly, I recruited some of the most incredible students in the country. I loved getting to know each and every one of you individually.
I’d like to recount some amazing blessings over the last six years. For starters, many students visited me in my office, sometimes weekly. Several Park students attended my wedding in 2007. I received invites to Park students’ weddings. I received invites to the baptisms of Park students and their children. I’ve been invited to your high school and college graduations! Best of all, your grandmothers gave me hugs and baked me cookies.
Faculty at Park University: I have a great deal of respect for all of you, and I admire your hard work and dedication to student success. I really enjoyed working alongside Dr. Brackett and the honors students.
Staff at Park University: Thanks to all who believed in my ability to recruit. I would also like to personally thank Cathy Colapietro for bringing me back on board. If you haven’t met Cathy, seek her out. She’s a rock star.
Coaches at Park University: Some of you I knew better than others but I appreciate the respect you gave me as a recruiter. I wanted the best for your student athletes. I was always an advocate for talent.
Students, thank you again for making the job at Park so easy. Being able to relate to you and your families is what made it memorable. Just remember, students are Park University. It would be a hillside of empty buildings without you. God bless.
