Park University has been recognized in top categories earning various awards from July through September of this year.
First, Park earned the Colleges of Distinction award for the third consecutive year. Park was one of 300 colleges and universities worldwide for 2013-2014. Park happens to be one of six colleges in Missouri to receive this honor this year. To be rewarded in this category, the school must portray excellence in student-focus of higher education among the four divisions including engaged students, great teaching, vibrant communities and successful outcomes. According to affordablecollegesonline.org, “Park ranked second most affordable private college for online learning.” The list recognizes colleges across the country with distance learning options, affordable tuition and fees, and alumni who earn top dollar immediately after graduation. Park also ranked third among all colleges and university based in Missouri with greatest lifetime return on investment.
High ranking among safest four-year universities in the country was also awarded to Park. This is ranked in the United States according to the website StateUniversity.com. Park was ranked No.35 among all schools in the country and No.29 among all private universities nationwide.
Park was also ranked the safest school in the Kansas City metropolitan area and No.3 in Missouri.
Park University Junior Dani Li said she was aware of the recent awards for safest campuses.
“I think Park deserves it because as a student and a resident on Parks’ campus I feel pretty safe,” she said. “Campus security is around 24 hours constantly securing our campus from the dorms to the buildings that hold classes.”
Park also recently ranked in service members using tuition assistance.
Park earned high marks among service members using tuition assistance across all branches of the Armed Forces, according to July 15 issue of “Military Times.” In overall educational rankings, Park is ranked No.16 in the country among all colleges and universities, and No.2 among all private universities by “Military Times.”
Park also ranked No.4 nationally and No.1 among private colleges and universities and in members of the Marine Corps, Park ranked No.5 nationally a No.1 among private colleges and universities, according to the military publication.
With so many awards given to Park University, Sophomore Xavielle Brown was amazed.
“I really didn’t have any idea about all the awards received by our school,” said Brown. “I think it’s a great deal to be a part of an institution that is recognized for good work which allows more students worldwide to want to attend Park and keep the tradition alive.”
