The Kansas City Chiefs won 28 to 18 against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024, making them 6-0. The Chiefs are now the only team that is undefeated in the NFL after the Minnesota Vikings lost to the Detroit Lions.
This game left a lot of players injured. Starting within the first quarter, wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster aggravated a hamstring injury that happened during practice on Thursday. He will now be out for the game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday. Then, defensive back Jaylon Watson limped off the field during the fourth quarter. Nazeeh Johnson filled in for Watson, but Watson could be out for the season.
This game has been recorded as 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy’s worst game of his career. The play that stood out was a third quarter miscommunication interception to wide receiver Ronnie Bell. Purdy told NBC Sports Bay Area, “I’ve obviously got to watch the film again and stuff, but my instant reaction is I’ve got to play better. The second interception was on me again. Ronnie did his job. I thought he just got hemmed up. I didn’t know where he was going to come out on his route, so I just tried putting it on him, and then he ended up breaking out pretty good. So, Ronnie did his job. It was on me.”
On Sunday, Oct. 27, the Chiefs and Raiders will go head-to-head at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. With recent predictions it looks like the odds are not on the Raiders’ side. This is probably due to the fact that the Raiders Quarterback Aiden O’Connell is out because of a fractured thumb. The Raiders also traded wide receiver Devante Adams to the New York Jets.
But the Chiefs are without key players as well, including wide receiver Rashee Rice after surgery to repair his LCL on his right knee will require four months for a full recovery. Wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown is expected to miss out on this season due to his shoulder injury and its recovery time. Running back Isiah Pacheco is still out due to a fractured fibula. Pacheco recently posted on his Instagram story on Oct. 21, walking on a treadmill. However, he still has about two weeks left of recovery time before being back on the field.
As of Oct. 23, the Chiefs have added three-time All-Pro wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, in trade for a fifth-round draft pick for the Tennessee Titans. If the Chiefs make it to the Super Bowl this year it could become a fourth-round draft pick. Hopkins will strengthen the Chiefs for the game against the Raiders since they lost their other receivers to injuries.
The Las Vegas Raiders are currently 2-5, but win or lose for the Kansas City Chiefs, they will still be on top.

This was an excellent article! I know nothing about football, so this article really provided me with a better understanding of the statistics.
