Parks Activities Fair

On Friday, January 18, 2019, Park held the spring activities fair in Thompson Commons. While hosting many clubs and organizations for students to try, it was also a way to learn more about the school’s upcoming opportunities.

Admissions counselor, Lindsey Edwards said, “It gives a visual representation of the organizations to the students that could get involved with them.”

“I’d encourage students to attend the fair, if nothing else it’s a great way to meet other people and to see what they can get involved with,” she said.

There were many organizations that attended the fair including The Guild, which is a club to play board games and role-playing games (RPGs) such as Dungeons and Dragons. They meet to play every Friday night at Copley Quad.

Among the other organizations in attendance were the Christian student group, Intervarsity, the American Association of University Woman (AAUW) and “Ask Alexa.”

“Ask Alexa” is a student beta club which is currently testing cutting-edge technology to allow quick access to student information, such as class schedules and grades.

“We are ahead of the curve,” said assistant professor of public administration, Susan Keim.  “We are leading the way instead of pulling along.”

Park offers many programs to help students expand their knowledge and experience through clubs and organizations. All clubs and organizations are open to anyone who is seeking to expand their opportunities with the school and their peers.
