The Park University 9th Annual Student Research and Creative Arts Symposium will be held on the Parkville Campus this spring and students are encouraged to submit their creative works.
The event will be held April 7-10, 2014, at the Parkville main campus.
This is the opportunity for Park’s students to present their independent and collaborative research and creative and artistic projects. Every student is eligible to participate in the symposium by filling the application and having a description of the project and a faculty mentor.
The symposium will include photography, musical performances, essays and creative writing, art, graphic and interior design and experimental learning.
Previously the symposium was not connected to individual or a group on campus so it is now decided to house the symposium in the honors academy in spring 2014.
“It’s an opportunity to show all their hard work and the creativity,” said Virginia Brackett, associate professor of English and director of honors academy.
Brackett began contributing in 2006 as a member of the committee and coordinators of the symposium.
The symposium will be open to the public and Beckett believes the public should come to the symposium.
“The students are developing excellent work and the audience to learn about a topic this way,” she said.
