A new art club has just been formed on campus is now available for students looking for a welcoming environment where every major is invited to join.
“I want a chance to bring fellow students together who have something in common and can get to know one another, have fun, reach out to others, support our local artists both on and off campus through all types of art,” said Elisha Bailey, club president.
Since the art club is new this year, club organizers are working on new activities and plans for the year. Bailey said they are currently planning activities such as going to the Nelson Adkins Art Museum, First Fridays art events and other outings to support local artists and enjoy art together.
She would also like to find ways to connect to the community of Parkville including spending a couple hours for all of the photography lovers to hang out, enjoy nature and take all the pictures possible at the nature sanctuary located next to the university.
The art club will hold its meetings in the art studio located on the top floor of Alumni Hall. The next scheduled meeting will be held from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26. The following meetings will be held every other Thursday.
