New international students arrive at Park University

Park University is known around the area for its diversity. With students from all parts of the world, the university is a comfortable place where international students can complete theirs 4-year-college experience. For the 2019 Spring, the university has received 33 new foreign students from 3 different continents.

In the 2019 Spring, 3 of the 5 continents are represented by the new international students. Park has now: 17 new students from Asia, 5 from America and 11 from Africa. For Waleed Alshar, a student of Information Systems and Business Analytics from Jordan, the life at the United States looks easy than at other places. “This is a multicultural country, people are open-minded and the IT education is on the top of the world,” Alshar said.

The college has also a specific office for the international students where they can get more information and can learn more about the campus and the university. For Ozoda Narzullaeva, an Office Assistant majoring in computer science, the department offers multiple options to help foreign students to adapt to a new environment. “We have events such as: the new student orientation, International Students Incorporated and the International Club,” Narzullaeva explained. “All these events help to create a very friendly atmosphere for all the students.

With around 80,000 foreign residents, Kansas City is a city where the international students can find some activities for different kind of ethnic. According to Alshar, the way that Park dedicates activities to international students helps him to enjoy his experience. For Narzullaeva, who is from Uzbekistan, the fact that the university has a very diverse campus helps the student to heal his homesick.

Living the experience of studying a masters in the U.S., the 40-year-old Jordan has set a goal for his life at Park and expect a mix of enjoyment and success during these 2 years. Narzullaeva said that the chances for success are big and the office is ready to help all the international students with their needs. “The office is open from Monday to Friday from 8AM until 4:30PM for them to ask questions and make requests,” she said. “All they need to do is stop by the second floor of Herr House.”
