Homecoming week packed with campus activities
Homecoming is approaching fast, and the week is packed full of ways to celebrate. The Park University Activities Board’s Spirit Week will be Sept. 11-16, with activities and dress-up themes planned for almost every day.
On Monday, Sept. 11, the Park Student Activities Board will hold a pep rally during lunchtime and a kickball game at English Landing Park that evening. This will be Sportswear Day. Tuesday, Sept. 12 will be Tropical Day, with ThinkFast Trivia at lunch and International Movie Night from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13 will feature a T-Shirt swap at lunch. This will be Twin Day, so find a twin to dress up with. Thursday, Sept. 14 will be Pizza Night at Stone Canyon Pizza. Friday, Sept. 15 will be Spirit Day, so wear your Park gear! This is also the day of the Alumni Awards Luncheon and Park Olympics. Park Olympics will be from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Finally, Homecoming Day itself will be Saturday, Sept. 16. Both men’s and women’s soccer will play, with the games lasting from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m., against Central Baptist College. Homecoming Royalty will be announced at this time.
Then, that evening, the Homecoming Masquerade dance will be held at the Marriot Hotel Briarcliff from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
PSAB Vice President of Event Planning, Hannah Hartzell, said that masks for the masquerade will be handed out on Sept. 12 and 13 during the planned activities.
“It’s first come, first served for those,” Hartzell said, “but we want it to be a real masquerade ball, so the idea is to make sure everyone gets a mask.”
