New semester brings new campus activities
A new semester means new activities for students at Park as well as some of the activities students already know and enjoy.
Each organization and club is already at work putting together a fun-filled 16 weeks.
Some activities to look forward to include ice skating, a trip to Snow Creek, a game show to celebrate Black History Month and a winter ball.
Returning events include a Super Bowl celebration, a bowling night and Cave Rave in the Park Distance Learning. These events are scheduled to come back because of their success in the past.
“I’ve never attended a Cave Rave but I’m excited to check it out this semester,” said freshman Jorge Moreno, who is an undecided major.
If graduating does not already have seniors excited, the countdown the Student Activities Board will get them pumped up.
This special new event for seniors will countdown the days until graduation from 100 days to 50 all the way down until 25. A social event will be held as a reminder of the impending final day.
Another new event taking place this semester that has Park Student Activities Board President Vy Nguyen excited is the cooking class that will be held around Valentine’s Day.
With this event, students can learn how to make something great to impress your significant other.
With over 50 clubs and organizations at Park University, there is something for everyone to get involved with whether it’s modern language, political science or biology.
To find out and to get more information on these and all of the clubs make sure to check out the activities fair, Friday, Jan. 23 at 11:30 a.m. in Thompson Commons.
Also make sure to pay attention for any new events that could pop up throughout the semester as PSAB is working hard to fill up the calendar for a fun-filled semester.
More information on events and coverage will be in future issues of The Stylus.
