Community health fair educates students
The nursing department at Park University held a community health fair on April 21 in Park Avenue. At this event, nursing students had displays about various health topics. Jennine Wilson, assistant chair of nursing, helped plan the event. She said, “I think this event is very important for students because it allows them to kind of showcase what they are learning in their nursing program.” There were also booths for vendors outside of the program to help educate the Park community on how to stay healthy. These partners included Pirate Pantry, Pirate Fitness, Park University Counseling Center, Parkville Nutrition and Platte County Community Center. Wilson said this event will be held again next spring.
