Spring break is almost here. With a week off from school, many students will be finding ways to stay busy or just relax during the week.
Park University’s spring break will be held from Monday, March 10, through Sunday, March 16.
Zac Jarrard, a political science and economics major, will spend some time at the YMCA working out.
“I will also work on finishing some term papers so I’m not stressed over finals week,” he said.
However, there are those who will spend their week-long break on campus, which is exactly what Nancy Shinyambala, mathematics major, said she will do.
As a resident mentor, Shinyambala is needed to stay during that week to fulfill her duties keeping an eye on students in her dorm building.
She said she will also be using that week to stay ahead of her studies and coursework.
“I need that time to study for my board exams,” she said.
Spring break is also a great week for students to use for vacation trips and studying abroad.
One person who is taking advantage of that and going on a small vacation is Josh Hedgers, a political science major.
He will travel to northern Arkansas to go fly fishing in the White River.
“I’m just looking forward to getting out of the city and being in the Ozarks and relaxing,” he said.
However, money can be an issue for some students who want to travel but cannot.
If he had the money, Sean Dunn, a political science major, said he would take a trip to Prague in the Czech Republic to experience the culture and history. He also said the partying is cheap there, too, which is a positive for him.
Instead, Dunn will be spending his spring break relaxing.
“I’m going to watch a lot of Netflix,” he said.
